  2.     DISK USAGE BY FILESYSTEM
  3.  
  4.     You can use this command to view Disk Usage by Filesystem. A window
  5.     showing all mounted file systems, and their current usage of disk
  6.     space and inodes will appear, as shown below.

  8.     You now have the option to look at:
  9.  
  10.     + User Sum. Summarize disk usage by username
  11.     + Group Sum. Summarize disk usage by user group
  12.     + File Search Search for files based on a search criteria
  13.     + Processes View the processes using a filesystem
  14.     + Graph Graph the disk usage
  15.  
  16.     User Sum.

  18.     Highlight the filesystems you wish to summarize, then click on the
  19.     User Sum. button. The Disk Usage Information By Users window will
  20.     appear summarizing the disk usage by user for the highlighted
  21.     filesystems. This window shows you the: user name, real name,
  22.     telephone number, number of files owned by the user, and total disk
  23.     usage (in KB). An example of this is shown on page 5-9.

  25.     The disk usage summaries are based on previously taken disk
  26.     snapshots. Consequently, the displayed data may not be current. To
  27.     rebuild the disk snapshots before the summary is made, click on the
  28.     Rebuild button in the previous window. See "Building Snapshots" on
  29.     page 5-2 for more details.

  31.     Group Sum.

  33.     Highlight the filesystems you wish to summarize, then click on the
  34.     Group Sum. button. The Disk Usage Information By Group window will
  35.     appear summarizing the disk usage by user for the highlighted
  36.     filesystems. This window shows you the: group name, number of files
  37.     owned by the group, and total disk usage (in KB). An example of this
  38.     is shown page 5-16.

  48.     There will be times when you need to perform disk file searches for
  49.     information not readily apparent, such as file size, file types,
  50.     creation date of a file, and who owns a particular file. Highlight
  51.     the disk partitions (filesystems) you wish to query and click on the
  52.     File Search button to find, and then view, these files through a
  53.     query process.

  55.     The File Search Query window will appear where you can enter your
  56.     search criteria. If you do not fill-in a field, it is not used as
  57.     part of the search pattern. See the example on page 5-19 for details
  58.     on how to use the File Search Query window and its fields.

  60.     Processes
  61.  
  62.     You can use this command to displays all currently running processes
  63.     which are accessing the highlighted filesystems. To view the
  64.     processes, highlight the filesystems you wish to view and then click
  65.     on the Processes button. A window will appear displaying all
  66.     processes accessing the highlighted filesystems. See the example on
  67.     page 5-24 for details on how to use the Processes by Filesystem
  68.     window and its buttons.

  70.     Note: The Processes By Filesystem functionality does not work
  71.     correctly in version 4.1x of the Sun operating system. The resulting
  72.     report may be incomplete and/or display processes which are NOT
  73.     associated with the selected partitions.

  77.     To graph the disk usages, highlight the information you wish to view
  78.     and then click on the Graph button. A window will appear displaying
  79.     the highlighted items in a graphical format.
